Stonegate Pub Support Team Interview Tips

Welcome, future Stonegate prospective colleague!

If you’ve been offered an interview with our Pub Support Team, congratulations! You’re one step closer to joining a dynamic and supportive business.
Our Pub Support Team is the backbone of Stonegate, including our Finance & IT, Strategy, Property, Commercial & Marketing, and HR teams.

We want you to succeed, so we’ve put together some useful tips to help you shine in your interview.

Preparation is key to feeling confident.

Here’s how you can get ready:

  1. Understand the Role: Have you asked for the job description? Make sure you understand the responsibilities and requirements of the role you’re applying for.
  2. Know Stonegate: Do you know what Stonegate Group does? Familiarise yourself with our mission, pillars, and values. While your interviewer won’t quiz you on these, they’ll give you a sense of our company ethos.
  3. Local Insight: If your future role involves interacting with our pubs, have you visited any? Knowing your local Stonegate site can be a big plus.

Practical Tips for Interview Day

Virtual Interviews: If your interview is on Teams, make sure you’re in a quiet location with good WiFi and no loud distractions.
In-Person Interviews: Research your route and parking. If you’re visiting one of our sites, check if parking is available and inform Reception where you’ve parked.

Dress to Impress (Comfortably!)

We’d love to see your authentic self at the interview. While we have a relaxed dress code, aim to make a positive first impression with clean and confident attire.

During the Interview

  • Breathe and Think: Take a moment to breathe and consider the questions being asked. It’s okay to explain the context of your answer or clarify the question before responding.
  • Align with Our Values: Remember our mission, pillars, and values. Think about how your answers reflect these principles.
  • Bring a Notepad: It’s fine to bring a notepad with reminders of your experiences or CV as a memory aid.
  • Ask Us Questions: We want to know what’s important to you! Bring your questions about career paths, opportunities for development, or anything else you’d like to clarify.

You’ll hear back from one of our recruitment team or the hiring manager within a reasonable time. If you haven’t heard within a week, feel free to reach out to us.
